VERSO IS SUPPORTING THE SWEDISH CANCER SOCIETY 2023

At Verso, we constantly seek ways to support skin health and our well-being. The Swedish Cancer Society´s mission is to beat cancer by financing necessary research in Sweden. We are proud to be one of the donors and a “Rosa Företagsvän” during 2023 to help fund their vital work. This October, we are joining women and organizations worldwide in highlighting breast cancer awareness month. The road to defeating cancer is more research and studies, which requires additional and continuous funding.

During October 21-22nd Verso will donate 10% of our turnover to cancer research when you order from our website. Thereby, you support the Swedish Cancer Society in this important fight. Enclosed with every order, you will receive a uniquely designed pink sachet (2 ml) of our bestseller Verso Night Cream.

Breast cancer has affected so many women and their families, but there are also stories of hope, fighting spirit, and positive outcomes. Those stories are truly essential and beacons of light. Our dear Verso team member, Louise, has fought and overcome breast cancer, and by sharing her story, we would like to help raise awareness.  Louise is passionate about physical activity and enjoys working out at the gym. Here, she shares how her active lifestyle helped her through the tough times:

“Receiving a cancer diagnosis is unreal. A person’s whole life is turned upside down, but I personally realized early on that leading an as ordinary life as possible was key; the sense of normality, doing normal things in a situation that is far from normal”.

- Louise Svensson, Verso team member

I personally realized early on that leading an as ordinary life as possible was key; the sense of normality, doing normal things in a situation that is far from normal.

Louise continues: “Working out and staying active is something that I genuinely believe has helped me endure and overcome a very tough period in life. The solid base and strength that I had built were instrumental as I was recuperating both mentally and physically. Obviously, I had to take it easy in the beginning, but I gradually increased the intensity. I have a deeply rooted relationship with physical activity, and it is as solid as ever. It is my passion! Being at the gym and working out with others spreads positive energy. Something that I believe to be a very strong force throughout a lifetime”.

We’d also like to convey how Louise’s close friend Stina Svensson at ‘Miss Svensson’ found a way to help fight breast cancer. Stina created a pattern for a fantastic Pink Ribbon sweater named “Louise” in order to pay tribute to her friend who survived breast cancer.

“Stina is a fantastic friend who has been there to support me, not being afraid of accompanying me on this journey. Not everyone would dare. The best thing about the Louise sweater – apart from having an amazing pink color (that I love!) is that it is incredibly beautiful. I love that you can contribute to the research and get something lasting and useful in return”.

Thank you, Louise, for your inspiring story, and Miss Svensson, for the lovely knit pattern!
